The Birth of a Wanderer
Cautiously, thoughtfully, mind in high gear,
Building up courage to overcome fear,
The fear of the unknown, of something that’s new,
My mind no more fogged up, my eyes now seeing clear
I stand up and step out of my comfort zone
Into the bright sunlight, my face now feels warm
Scanning the horizon, deciding where to go
Anything to help me diverge from the norm
My body like the pages of a blank diary waits,
For the quill of fortune to splash out its ink
With stories of travel, new cultures and friends,
Of laughter and merriment, good food and drink
Hoping for good times and experiences too
That will help me grow both in body and mind;
With zeal and conviction I’ll keep travelling on,
Till someday that perfect adventure I find!
