The Birth of a Flower

A tiny seed that is planted
And cared for every day
With Water and with sunshine
Will grow and find it’s way

The roots will start to take a hold
In the rich soil that it lays
Then the sun will do it’s magic
And the seed will break away

A fragile little stem will
Emerge for within this tiny seed
And start it’s journey through
The earth so one day it will be freed

A struggle it will have
As it pushes through the earth
As the weather and the insects
Try to stop it from it’s birth

But a special little seed
That is cared for every day
Will grow strong and sturdy
And eventually find it’s way

And one day you will see this stem
As it pushes through the earth
And know that you have helped
It through the struggle of it’s birth.

But now the life has just begun
As you are needed more than ever
To teach this little seed
How to be the best forever

Your patience and your caring
Your tender touch you see
Will help this little flower
Be the best that it can be.

Your love, teaching and guidance
Will be what this seed needs
To grow strong and sturdy
Into a beautiful flower for all the world to see

So when you decide to plant a seed
Take thought with what you do
A tiny little seed can only
Thrive with you.

You painted this piece with kindness and loving care from start to finish. If only all our children were treated this way. Love this fine poem my friend.. A7..

A lovely metaphor for caring for our children from conception through birth and beyond Janet!
