The Better of Two Words

There's no "I" in committed relationships.
          One breaks the chain of unity
      With each use. It should be avoided
                     Like a plague.

            Stop using "I" in relationships
       It's like crossing a bridge to nowhere;
         Tantamount to a shipwrecked soul
                 Stuck on a lonely island.

         Do not make yourself an individual.
           Instead of the "I" word, use "We."
                   It's the canoe across
                The creek of selfishness.

         "We" acknowledges your partner;
                It's a word of inclusion
         That strengthens the ties that bind.
          In relationships, always use "We."
