The best day ever
I took my grandson and the neighbors 2 boys
for a walk to the park on Saturday
And we had a fun day.
Coming back they asked to go home a different way,
And chance came into play,
As we met a happy policeman going the opposite way,
He gave us a cherry good day,
I, for the sake of of something to say,
Introduced my 5 year old grandson as Detective Harvey,
Upon hearing this the happy policeman decided to
to add to out fun day,
We all went to his police car to get Police themed,
coloring-in sheets and a photo of the boys and him,
in front of the car to remember the day,
Chance came our way,
In the form of a policeman, happy to go out of his way,
So, our grandson could say he had the best ever day.
Was it chance on display,
Or something else to account for us going home a different way,
At a time when a happy policeman was passing our way.
Could it have been a sign this day,
For our grandson to look at going the detective way,
For real one day.
Either way the boys saw police in a good way.
