The Beginning...Part Ii

On the seventh day He rested; for all was in its place. For He had finished everything, to start the human race. He said, “Adam I have made you, and of every tree you may eat. But of the tree of good and evil, from it you must retreat! For in the day you eat of it, you shall surely die.” His work was almost finished, He turned and gave a sigh. I’ve brought the animals to you, male and female of the same. Whatever you would call them, that will be their name. But God looked then, and what He saw was for Adam no helpmeet, So He fashioned him a helper as He put him in deep sleep. He took a rib from Adam and formed Adam his wife Adam called her woman for part of him had gave her life. One day while in the garden the serpent came her way And as she picked the fruit therein, she could hear him say. Did God say not to eat of every garden tree, Why God knows if you do, then you’ll be wise as He. So of the fruit the woman ate, gave a portion to the man Their eyes were opened to the truth and naked did they stand. God’s voice walked in the garden calling “Adam, where are you?” Adam cried “we are hiding, we are naked not knowing what to do.” “Who told you you were naked, how can this thing be? Tell me Adam, tell me now, have you eaten from the tree? Because you have done this thing, from this garden you shall go. Thorns and thistles shall be your ground, that’s all you shall know. By sweat of your face you’ll earn bread till dust you do return.” Out of the garden then they went; a hard lesson had been learned. In a void and darkened world your spirit now shall dwell And from the darkness of your land, I’ll cause my light to swell. Into all the brokenness and empty vessels bring, Until you kneel before my throne and claim me as your King
