The Beginning
My fingers were a little stiff
as I blew my sigh of relief.
A beam of hope shone on my face.
I thought of that day as my saving grace.
Muffled tears fell from my eyes
as I thought of the mountains I ran for miles;
Their profound sense blended with my smile
as I laid down my troubles for a while.
As I took a bite of my celebration
I echoed some voices of exaltation,
for, time gave rise to the beginning;
The time to weave a path with a meaning.
