The Beauty Outside
My husband and I went out today.
For a country ride,
It was a glorious day,
Too good to waste inside.
The scenery was magnificent,
Mother Nature at her best.
No one would be equivalent,
If there should ever be a test.
I could wax on endlessly,
At the wonders that we saw.
Both of us said in unison,
This beauty is just outside our door.
As we drove along the lanes,
I thought we were in the picture.
I went to great pains,
Trying to make this a fixture.
I could wax on forever,
My vocabulary does not allow,
I would like to be more explicit,
Sadly I do not know how
I would like you, dear reader,
To come for a ride,
To get us out of this doldrum,
And see the beauty that's outside.
