The Beauty of the Day

The beauty of the day

Crisp cold air glistens in the sunlight
bright and glowing on the leaves,
   pale saffron lemon jasmine hues,
   touching tangerine apricot marmalade,
   sweetened blush cherry rose sangria.
The world full of creatures
   rambling through the trees
flitting fast and furious for food
whistling song chattering chirp crying coos
of warbled whistle wails of winter tide.
Soft sultry sensuous sun shine
clings to captured caravans in cold blue skies
gazers galvanizing the graying gates of change
autumn harvested leaf strewn maize turn to frost
ice crystal crackling crisp and white on glass.
Winter blows windward a gloriole corona
that lights the earth and speaks in silenced cold.
Seize the day.
