The Beauty of the Cross
The Beauty of the Cross
The beauty of the Cross
Is its saving power.
When we’re touched by remorse,
Mercy God does shower.
Over every contrite heart,
Wherever it may be,
In jail or a palace,
All because of Calvary.
The beauty of the Cross
Is not in its wood or nails,
But in the one who gave his life;
A precious love that never fails.
It touches the soul that’s sinful
And brings about regret.
For any type of disobedience;
In repentance God forgets.
The Beauty of the Cross
Is not in what is seen,
But rather in what it represents;
Life where death has been.
A hope of eternity
Long after the grave.
All because Christ hung there—
Everything he gave.
The Beauty of the Cross
Never wanes or loses its allure.
For there’s no other answer;
No other life-saving cure.
Grace and mercy are its jewels;
Peace and joy its crown;
The beauty of the Cross
Will forever be renown!
