The Beauty of a Dream Come True

The Beauty of a Dream Come True Lucky to not live in a city, Recalling those red walls of brick. Sirens wailing, screams aplenty. Oh, I wanted out of it. Crowded buses, freezing weather, Dirty streets, horns blaring. My soul cried, no more of this! Summers sitting in pools of sweat. It was either unhappy surrender Or, dream, big impossible dreams. That would give me my freedom. I prayed, "Lord, get me out of this!" Why do people crush your dreams? The more negative they became, I must thank each one and all, For really igniting my insatiable flame! To move to the City of my Dreams. To live and work in San Francisco I do not lie at alll, I tell you, I was as joyful as a queen. I had no idea what was in store. Yet, it became so beautiful, Far beyond any expectation. In that city,I found my soul's destination! Whatever your dream is, pursue it! You can reach that star, keep it real. It's the twinkling stardust in your hand. The world is at your very command! This is a hopeful muse for sure with strong rhymes and an honest force behind it. Well done.

So glad you enjoyed this. My poem. "My Poetry is Me" Expresses the honesty that rages like a blazing fire throughout my poetry. It's hard for me to be super descriptive. I like basic poetry yet love the Bard. FAV Poet is ee Cummings. He is direct! Panagiota xx

So glad to read how you fulfilled your dream and now live it. Other than the little oasis where I live, Sauganash, parts of Sheridan Rd. and near downtown, Chicago is, indeed, how you described it---though nowhere near as bad as most of NYC... Enjoy your real-life dream-world out there in Frisco! Hurrah! ~ Gershon

Gershon ~ I eloped from Sauganash before you were born! Just kidding! The Mag Mile, I was told is mostly boarded up. Too bad, I loved that. You are nowhere near trouble. Though Niles had trouble recently.Elmwood Park has gangs. I knew Chicago well. Last place was Montrose and Marine Drive. Gorgeous!..NYC is headed for BIG trouble. You live in a nice place! SF was once nice. It served me more than well. Sigh! I once lived near Cubs Park, too Happy 4th. Panagiota xx

This is lovely and inspiring, Panagiota! Dreams do come true if you take a chance. I've let fear keep me from trying new things, but I'm trying to learn from my mistakes. Blessings to you, Rhonda xx

Ah, dearest Rhonda! Appreciate you telling your truth so openly. I DO mean that. Plenty hide behind headlines. It's boring and boorish to the core. I thirst foe genuiness as you just displayed. Thank you. Breakthroughs mean much. Skiing along being safe is boring to the max. Pangiexx

Dreams are safe, adventure risky, so most people never discover what they are made of! Aloha! Rico

Nice to hear from you Rico. I adore risk. The more, the better. I also love making dreams become reality. These are life trophies, nobody sees unless talked about. People will tell you..,you can't achieve this or that. Most fold under opinion, as I said in the poem that is my motivation. Having Positive mentors is a plus against the nay Sayers of the world. Luv + Aloha~ Pangie xx

Stan, I grew up in Chicago. Later in the 'burbs, then back to Chicago. I drove to Canada from Chicago and loved Canadians! Still like hockey players. I did get fed up with Chicago, finally. Best thing I ever did was to leave and settle in wine country. Lovely. Panagiota

You've proved dreams can come true, but they're not handed to you, you have to chase them and make them a reality. Tom
