The Beat of the Cart

Pushing a cart
To the beat
Moving gingerly
Down the street
A squeak here
A rattle there
If they stare
You don't care
Destination's
On your mind
It's in front of you
Not behind
A few steps more
You declare
You'll take
Your shoes off
Lie down
On the ground
And breathe
The fresh air
The cart
Is your home
You know
You're not alone
You hear the sound
The Beat of the Cart
Is all around
