I wrote this poem today, 19th September 2022 as I watched the funeral of my wonderful Queen Elizabeth. She became Queen 2 weeks before I was born and crowned the year after. As i watched her funeral with all its wonderful pomp and pageantry, I was moved greatly by the young soldiers who were the 'Bearer Party' bearing her coffin down long roads and streets into Westminster, and out again, then onto carriage and off again and lastly into Windsor. I watched their faces and i wondered what they were thinking. Were they thinking I hold the Queen of England in my arms? Were they saying "its ok Ma'am you are safe in our hands" ? Whatever they were thinking i knew they would never ever forget the day the held the Queen of Great Britain in their arms.
