The Beach

The Beach
Kevin Davis 2024

Sitting in the sun, back when we lingered without care,
Warmth on our shoulders, breathing salt-sweetened air.
The breeze carried whispers of futures yet unseen,
While waves kept the rhythm, always steady and serene.

Children’s laughter drifted, a melody so sweet,
Sand filled our sandals, the shore at our feet.
The earth slowed its turning, each moment held bright,
Wrapped gently within the glow of that shimmering light.

The sky stretched endlessly, the horizon a pure blue,
Seagulls took flight softly, as our daydreams did too.
Our memories were painted in bright, fleeting rays,
Joy and love forever etched in colors that time cannot erase.

Now together we sit, recalling hours by the sea,
When worries were shadows, and our hearts beat free.
The sun has set on those days, yet its glow still remains,
A timeless warmth forever flowing through our veins.
