The Ballad of a Heartbroke Gypsy

as shadows stake claim to dark night somewhere a lonely gypsy is singing and weeping drops upon dry ground making camp with sad voice ringing lady luck no longer walks at his side each night he sits by this fire for one remembering a girl called Irish Rose her eyes lighting a room like the sun while she danced men paid her well she chose the guy offering the most every night he still sees her swaying love's fortunes just a shadowy ghost for his Irish Rose no longer remains killed by a group of angry townsfolk now he drives his cold empty wagon humming lonely songs of the heartbroke

I really love this John. I am only beginning to take in the reality and truth of the Gypsy culture. I knew so little and was moved by "The Theme To an Imagery Western". Best - Ken
