The Ball (Virelai Noveau)

Wearing a gown of lily white
I made my way into the ball,
My Date looked like a shining knight
at my side standing straight and tall,
Together we were quite a sight
the looks I got, I loved them all
wearing a gown of lily white.

Sweet sounds of music filled the hall
we danced so well he held me tight,
while in his arms I felt so small
as they were strong and full of might,
There's no way he would let me fall
but I won't think those thoughts tonight
I made my way into the ball.

My Date was sweet and so polite
he talked with a nice southern drawl,
We had such fun as sparks ignite
and we kissed at the last dance call,
and since my aim was to excite
I made my way into the ball
wearing a gown of lily white.
