The Back Roads

Trouble seems to follow me, and
Happiness does elude
Each time I find myself city
Bound, dressed up like some dude.

Acting the part of what I ain't
Chokes me on my own bile .
Knowing that there's a better way -
Riding back roads awhile.

Oh, solitude is what I seek
As nature ebbs and flows.
Deep in the piney woods I hear
Silence to cure life's throes.

I too love the back roads where it is quiet and peaceful and country like. Well done, Larry. Good luck in the contest.
