Notes About The Poem

Image result for pictures of sunrises on hillsides

The Awe of His Glory

Out on the porch, a jet streaks
across the sky~no sound
How high, how fast, and just where
Is it at such speed to bound?

Life seems like that sometimes~so fast
And most don't even know
Where they've been or where they're going
Just an out of control boat~rowing

The rising sun cast pink upon cobalt
Intermingled with sand
A glorious sunrise against
Silhouetted pines with raised hands

The coolness and beauty will be short
lived, soon the heat will scorch
Almost like a hunter in the dark
Who carries a fiery torch

If only for a minute longer
The awe of His glory
in the rising sun changing tints,
colors, location~ what stories

Now an orange floats behind the pines
Almost touching the tops
In an hour the heat will sting
Destroying even some crops

Sounds like a gorgeous sunrise, Mrs Sara. I too sometimes watch the jet trails and have been wanting to write a poem about them. I never have been able to figure it out. I watch them disappear just like my dreams. I love the write!
