Back in those days,
before the real
war landed
they thought it
prudent to
intervene.
the lashing was
administered
in a comfortable chair
the cone of silence
waited in the other
with notepad and pen
the auditing began.
it fell on deaf ears
what spoke, was not inside.
what was inside
was far away ;
