The Aroma

Brisk this morning, frost covered leaves
Quiet the house, warmed from inside
A stove meant to fry eggs and bacon
Becomes the scent of a turkey

Early the guest's arise in anticipation
Dry dressing smothered in succelant gravy
Moist white meat surrounded by cranberries
Or to enjoy a cup coffee with family

Nice poem, loved the imagery here.. Makes me a little hungry and wishing I were having coffee this morning with my mother. :)
