The Animal Within

The heart and soul give heed to God above
To our friends and family it gives out love
So why does so much hate abide?
‘Tis when we give in to the animal inside
It has its wants and needs and lustful desires
It wants to maim and kill and set the world on fire
So when you want to be a man not beast?
Do not give heed to its carnal feast
When you are ready to avoid all sin
Just don’t give in to the animal within
