The Angel and the Fireman
A fireman named Fred
was happy in his marriage but sad
He had no children and would have been glad
if someone just called him dad
A boy came around named Ken
whose one desire was to be a fireman
The two became friends and when the boy turned ten
gifted with a fire hat by Fred happy on his bike he ran.
Soon came back frantic smoked red
a house was on fire he said
With two boys on first level in bed
three on the upper that looked dead
Sounded the alarm on the truck with Fred
through the streets the fire trucks sped
From the fire were all saved except Ken
on the ground laid lifeless the boy fireman
Choking their tears were all looking at him when
turning to Fred: I am your Angel said Ken
As he vanished was heard by no other fireman
except by Fred who believes he'll meet in heaven his Ken.
