The Alluring Death of Guilt
POEM " THE ALLURING DEATH OF GUILT " by martin gedge
Fade not ye whose heart is rich
for tempt may draw the eyes
the sin of the defining rope
of lust and sacred lies
for dark shall lure its guided host
into its bed of death
to suffocate and to possess
of all that you have left
you shall not seek this sordid kind
for patience willing pounce
to drain the life of every drop
and swallow every ounce
for thee a bug to hug the web
a soul of the cocoon
the feast for beast to dine aboard
with spiders in the womb
so of the weak there plays a fool
whose life will test the dead
to get their fix upon the bricks
while hanging by a thread
and to succumb and come undone
the pain will be severe
you lit the match that will unlatch
that everything you fear...
