The gift of kindness can't be seen
nor wrapped up as a gift-like scene;
a salve that comforts- pain diverts;
The act of kindness never hurts.

This gift to uplift those with needs:
to take the time with words or deeds,
and watch how- frown to smile converts-
The act of kindness never hurts.

Soft, loving touch on arm or hand-
to help them know we understand.
Each heartfelt gesture reasserts-
The act of kindness never hurts.

All gifts of kindness, large or small-
for just a while- can please, enthrall.
With gifts of time, our care asserts-
The act of kindness never hurts.
