The Absent Heart
I whispered,
I shouted,
My soul was doubted.
She answered,
She pleaded,
Her words were unheeded.
I laughed,
I cried,
My thoughts left inside.
She borrowed,
She gave,
Her emotions no slave.
I smiled,
I frowned,
My head turned around.
She grinned,
She sobbed,
Her trust was robbed.
I asked,
I demanded,
My temper was branded.
She tried,
She quit,
Her heart had split.
