The Abscence of Hate

pain has no color scent or taste
but pain like this is simply called hate

hate is so shallow too commonly used
kinda like my heart after you were through

thats why i dont use that word
it helps me keep control
to veer away from getting burnt
too late for part of my soul

if hate is death, why didnt you die
if hate is a blade, pull it out of my side
since hate isnt real then you have no feelings
well now that youve seen, ill start revealing

you never loved me.only pleasing yourself
never meant to be. you were only looking for help

well i offered my hand and you just turned away
i asked you what you needed you said "just a day"

nothing to do with me
denying there was ever love
i know youll always know
that i was more than enough

so hate i can not use
it hurts me more than you
my status quot wont change
ill love you anyway

ill be the mountain
and you can be the wind
you know the old phrase
cause youre trapped in familiar sin
