That Rugged Cross
In my mind I see it standing there
one top of Calvary's hill.
In reality that cross is gone
but I see it standing still.
I'll hold tight to that picture
ever present in my mind,
As a reminder of a rugged cross
on which my Savior died.
That rugged cross stands empty
and the tomb is empty too.
The tomb in which they placed my Lord
when He died for me and you.
I'll treasure that clear picture
that I carry in my mind
Of Golgotha with it's rugged cross
where my Lord and Savior died.
My Savior sits in Heaven
interceeding there for me.
But in my mind the cross still stands
on the hill of Calvary.
And at the foot of that old cross
I lay my burdens down
And kneel each day before that cross
till I recieve my crown.
