That He Must Rise From the Dead -John 20: 9

On the Easter morning at the tomb
when Mary Magdalene went to see
the stone had been rolled away
who would she tell? Who would agree?

To the disciples she did confer
Peter and John ran there all the way
John being younger got there first
but Peter went right in where He lay

The linen clothes neatly laid
face cloths folded there on their own
for there their eyes saw no one
now it was clear Jesus had flown

In that moment they saw and believed
that He must rise from the dead
their mission now was go and tell
Jesus is without doubt the living bread

(" for as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.")
John 20: 9 (esv)
