That Friend Proud of Their Lies
My worth is not something other people can dictate
in the group that love you there’s always a few who hate
the wolf dressed as a sheep may turn out to be your best mate
for everything you do for them they don’t appreciate
They think they are better though it doesn’t seem to be
when you get the attention and the love they never see
the narcissist within them feels entitled to believe
in a skill they have in them that stops you going free
Wont hesitate to make you look as though you’re full of flaws
Spreading rumours you’re useless to make you look a tool
and say they always help you out for no return at all
as if they’ve given everything and been treated like a fool
They think of you as someone who is always in their debt
the very few favours they do they won’t let you forget
calling in that same favour more times than you’d expect
and if you don’t do what they want they’ll show you they’re upset
The friend who’s proud to lie is no friend to be beside
you’ll watch as they lose everyone and you’re the next in line
you better pray you know enough to see ahead in time
just to be the one who made them lose their flipping mind
