That First Great Kiss

Holding out that little longer
Something special worth the wait
Noticed, meeting, crushing, dating
Then, at last, that first great kiss

It was a Spring day, end of May,
Her cheeks were red, like poppy flowers,
I whispered slowly, scared, please stay,
I hold her hand and talked for hours,

Holding out that little longer,
A blessed life, I happily say
Our genuine love becomes much stronger,
It was that first great kiss that made us stay.
