That Far Away Stare

26 Aug 2023 8:25 am Sitting in a room so small A pretty view a phone to call No one beside you to hold your hand Staring off into a far away land Your little room a holding cell Your broken mind in prison held A body living a memory gone Feet for dancing but no heart for song How I prayed and how I cried While you slipped out from your mind The hands that held and comforted me Now drawn and withered like winters tree You gave your all and all took what they could Now you sit here alone while others don't do what they should Folks have forgotten how to love and care They have forgotten that life is to share So here is to the forgotten who have forgotten themselves There is still one who loves you and knows you well Jesus will take you from your prison some day He will give you a new body that will never wither away.

That last stanza is sublime. Yes, I believe in the re-creation to come - Revelation 21:4
