That Boy

When you came You came alone That boy who followed We did not know His shirt was dirty And with pants torn He needed to eat Fed him pork and some corn He didn't belong Sent him on his way When we woke He was there to say "Take care of me And we will show The gift of God Love to be bestowed" We turned our heads We laughed away But we felt sorry And told the boy, "okay" Come on in We will help you But don't steal That's the rule He did what he was told Acted like a saint Never did he worry Never came a complaint With us for 10 years Loved him like our son It was time for him to leave His 'journey' had just begun Five years after My husband had cancer Doctors gave no hope But the boy had the answer "You showed me love Even if you didn't believe I'll tell God to hold him And let this man be" 2 days after, then it happened He opened his eyes Doctors could not believe To all it was a surprise But then my husband said "He came to me when I was asleep, He said my father dear You shall not weep" "you will complete your journey Live it with you wife You gave me your love I am giving you your life"
