The day does come
Surely
As the fragrance fades
The scent, a memory of
What it meant to fall
In love
The day does come
Cruelly
As petals fall away
Darkening, drying
At the base of
spent dreams
The day does come
Quickly
Swiftly, as each beautiful thing
That lives then dries
And dies while you
Are watching
The Day does come
Finally
That all things must pass
