Thanksgiving Sorrow

Thanksgiving is a time of happiness
But for some it brings tears to the eye
For it brings sorrow and heartache
Grieving for loved ones who have died

The holidays become so hard
Seeing the smiles on everyone's face
When all you want to do is cry
And be alone in a small dark place.

It is a time of reminiscing
Of all of their childhood years
And realizing what all could have been
Which just sends us into tears.

It's hard to really celebrate
When your heart is broken and torn
So, most of us have smiling masks
That most of us have worn

To get through these Holidays
Without the ones we love
And hope that they are looking down
And sending us their love.
