Thanksgiving Day

T he first one was to give God thanks
H e gave them reason to feast
A s the Indians settled among their ranks
N o one cared in the least
K ind hearted pilgrims sit side by side
S haring their harvest with love
G od looked down on their dinner with pride
I n awe from the Heavens above
V isions of hope was born that day
I mpossible friendships began
N o head was raised when they started to pray
G iving thanks was part of their plan

D id we somehow lose the reason for this,
A nd forget what Thankgiving means?
Y es, being thankful is the part that we miss
