Thanksgiving
They had the mashed, stuffing, string beans and of course the turkey
Obviously they had the means for the food was far as the eye could see
And the whole entire family was there and several others with them too
You could just feel the love and care such a beautiful picture if only I drew
Sitting around and watching the game in such a festive atmosphere
Then Uncle Larry finally came and the whole room erupted in a cheer
The fire was burning so nice on such a cool and crisp November day
Now the turkey was ready to slice as everyone started making their way
Twenty seven is what I would guess finally finding that last chair
I was starving I must confess everything perfect down to the silverware
Then sitting at the head it was now his show as he started to prepare
When a little voice suddenly said "Grand pop shouldn't we say a prayer?"
Her voice was so quiet in tone as everyone else was being so loud
But she made her point well known as her parents look on so proud
So that year we all said a prayer and we have every year since too
With so many people who are not aware maybe God left that job up to you
