Thanks Giving Day

Thanksgiving Day comes this one day a year A simple reminder To enjoy the simplest things in life The nourishment of basic needs Of family and friends (food and football!) In whatever passes for community, Be it small or large, Limited to just one Or extended across generations. It’s a holy day but one that embraces all faiths Reminding us to keep the faith In what has provided for us - Be it Earth or God, Self or other - And what we have to live for, For each of us have our own lives to be thankful for No matter how painful or challenging they be Thankful for our parents And all the lives before Leading up to today. A day that can be any day We live in thanks. (11/28/24)
