Thanks

...I am writing this poem
To thank you for being a friend,
For getting me through tough times,
For helping me to no end.

Without someone to talk to,
I would go insane.
Hatred, depression, guilt…
They would all cloud my brain.

So, I’m glad you talk to me,
And don’t pass me by.
And now, I have something I didn’t have.
I have a great ally.

...And for all these reasons
I thank you tonight.
For not letting the dark seize me,
And for helping me in my eternal fight.

(2) Blessings and best wishes - we will no doubt be seeing your name on many a winner's list! (This one is a wonderful tribute to friendship - perhaps we have started one ourselves). Peace. :-)

(1) Conner - No worries - we are all human, and as such, make mistakes, (and I make more than most three other people) ... I hurt a friend here once with a careless comment, so I'm not about to throw stones. You're a talented writer, and competition is a healthy thing, as it makes us all strive to improve ... if it helps, I didn't even PLACE in Emile's last contest, and I can't even count the number of others I haven't placed in or placed low - far too many, lol.

Yeah, and I have lost a LOT, (123 N/A's since I joined in December 2016) ... I guess the key is not getting discouraged by losing, cuz some people are just not going to connect with your work, no matter how competitive it is. For me, the best about this site is growing, improving and friendship, as I have met some incredible folks here ... and with my recording contract, I just do not have time to enter every contest, (plus I love to write for me, and not just for contests). My grandfather used to say talent is like manure - meant to be spread around, lol! ;-)

EDIT: Took away the remark about Greg...I know he's a better poet than me and I realize saying that was a jerky thing to do. Also, someone said something about it being immature, and they are right. (I'M 12 OKAY THESE ARE THE MOST STUPID YEARS OF MY LIFE) SOOOOOO...Emile, I don't suggest putting me on the podium or honorable mentions. I don't deserve it. Connor out.

Also, the comment wasn't mean't to be rude. It's my way of saying if he enters he has this in the bag. But yes, it sounded rude as...heck.
