Thank You Stranger

I was ready to let go
Ready to give up
I met you and nothing changed
Just another note to write
Another goodbye to choke out
But there’s something in you
And it spread to me
And kept me standing on my feet
I hadn’t seen the sun for months
Everything eclipsed by the knife in my gut
I couldn’t shake the things I felt
But you finally got me to yell for help

Many of us feel like "letting go" from time to time. I'm just glad you hung around long enough to write this life and love-affirming poem. Carolyn
