Thank You Aunt Marjorie

I had an Aunt Marjorie who took special care.
She always made sure to give all of us something wonderful.
My name is spelled different than other Karens’ names.
My mother spelled my Caren with a C.
So I could never get anything personalized.

When I was eleven Aunt Marjorie special ordered a pendant.
In script writing, it spelled Caren – it was gold plated.
This was my favorite present for at least fifty years.
It meant the world to me, it was something that I never had before.
I thank my Aunt Marjorie for that gift to this day.

Obviously, she loved you very much, too, Caren. As graduation presents to all of our nieces, Deb always gave a locket (pendant) inscribed with their name and the year of their graduation. Many of them still wear it. It makes me proud.

It is so nice to have something personalized like this!
