Terrorized For Life
In my room playing with a friend
Thinking life was great
Not knowing,
in a split second
It was going to degenerate.
The door flung open
Hard and fast
With what I saw next
I was aghast.
A rifle planted,
firm on my forehead
Frozen in terror,
Was this my error?
Given 60 seconds to run
Whilst looking at a gun
I didn’t stop, for anyone.
Ran for help as fast
As I could,
Running through
My neighborhood.
I awake with this memory
EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE,
I just soldier on
And stay out of strife.
I relive it like it was yesterday,
But now I pray.
I can forgive
But never forget
I must move on,
And not live a life
Of regret.
