Terence's Rose

Its been two years that you have been gone
But to my heart its not been that long
My heart still breaks from missing you
But I promise you dear that I will make it through

Today celebrates the day of your birth
Today, I plant this rose into the earth
To live and grow the way I'd hoped you could do
I plant this today in honor of you

I can watch this rose grow and thrive
Just like you did when you were alive Enjoying your laugh and warm embrace
Is what is missing from this place

Let this seedling grow and flourish
Allowing Mother Earth to nourish
Its roots, its blossoms and its leaves
In your honor, I ask this please

My love and care flows through it to you
And yours flows through it to me too
And when the blossoms begin to appear
That’s how I will know that your spirit is near.

So in the days and years ahead
With a part of you in my flower bed
The hard days it will get me through
Until once again, i get to see you.
