Ten Responses To the Question, Are You Mad At Me

Ten Responses to the Question, "Are You Mad at Me?"

One. What did you think it meant when
I didn't answer you the first time you asked?

Two. Are you only sorry if the answer is yes?

Three. The things I feel are not
Meant to be your punishment,
But I won't apologize for feeling this way-

Four. I'm not angry, just in mourning
For the person I thought you were-

Five. When did the movements of my lips
Start meaning more than what my eyes
Are telling you?-

Six. You never used to have to
Ask me this question-

Seven. Loneliness was never being alone;
It's looking at the person that you love
And realizing that they never knew you-

Eight. I miss you.

Nine. I just want everything...
To be okay...

Ten. No. It's fine. I'm not mad.
