Tempting

When I am sad,
Sleep seems to be
Such a tempting solution…
All my troubles go away when I am sleeping.
It’s because I am in
A new world…
A world where I control...
Everything…
A world where no one knows me.
A place where no one yells…
A room with just silence…
A school with only friends
A realm with no problems or
Drama.
But as tempting as sleep is
There is reality…
The real world
Where I am Powerless…
A place where people yell at me…
There are rooms full of noise when I need peace
Schools full of my enemies
It’s a realm full of problems and
Drama…
So it’s gotten to the point…
Where sleep is the best part of my day
And it’s so tempting…
So tempting…
That I believe
Living in a dream…
Is better than living
In this world.

A really detailed description of one of the symptoms of reactive depression, Well done putting it down so well. As you know we have more control over our environment than we realise and the cure is to meet it head on and change something to break the cycle. So impressed with this write. Kind regards, Ian
