Temptation Lost

A hardened heart that knows no shame, found a way to her sincere innocence. As I knew of the monster that I became, such erroneous nights of profound ignorance. The lonesomeness had me cornered in sin, from burned out cigarettes and bottled liquor. She taught me it is not important if i win, only if I could sit here and talk with her. Her tone was sweet but held its ground, like the big sister that I never had. And slowly her true feelings were found, I saw her scars and the reason she was sad. She spoke of pennies and thoughts divine, I knew I had been blessed this sacred night. As God sent his angel to give me a sign, I finally felt like I was going to be alright.
