Temptation
Temptation
As I hurry to catch a train
I find I'm running late again.
I have five minutes that is all,
Before I hear the boarding call.
The station gate is open wide,
Waiting for me to step inside.
Even though I'm running late,
I have cause to hesitate.
Out of the corner of my eye
A vending machine I can spy.
Temptation says, ?Don't pass by,
I've chocolates for you to try'.
I really need a chocolate fix,
And tempting me is Cadbury's Twix.
I know that I can't run and hide,
My mouth is drooling, open wide.
I've put some coins into the slot,
I'll not buy one, I'll buy a lot.
Comfort food is a pleasant way,
Enjoying moments of the day.
Chocolate's like having a hug,
You can't get that from any drug.
No matter whether young or old,
This message should be clearly told.
Chocolate is a very good food,
Its qualities can change a mood.
Although it's said that dark is best,
Any colour will calm unrest.
I've missed the train but I don't care.
I'm thankful I was made aware
Of that vending machine in place.
Tempting treats for me to taste.
Now I've finally reached my home,
The dog greets me, he's been alone.
I'm so late. he must first be fed,
Then I'll scoff chockies tucked in bed.
