Temptation

You tempt me with your touch
you tempt me with your stare
you tempt me with your love
which I know isn't their

Hearing the words "I love you"
doesn't mean a thing
empty words don't phase me
yet you still have my heart on a string

I love the way you treat me
I hate that it's all a lie
although I feel I need to
I could never say goodbye

I'm not the only one you fool
with your words and your deceit
until you part yourself from them
our love is incomplete

Your touch, your words, your whispers
Keep me from feeling dismal and alone
but lead me not to temptation
I can find that road on my own
