Tell Me Father
Tell me father
As you look upon your son
Are you proud of what you see
Proud of what I have become
Although I've cried
You'll see no tears
In your eyes that's weakness
I'll not show you my fears
All I ever wanted
Was to look good in your eyes
Time now to remove the mask
No more wearing a disguise
Things haven't gone my way
Haven't turned out as I plan
Tell me father if you will
Am I not still a man
I've been punched and kicked
Fallen to the ground
Inside of me a heart still beats
Waiting to be found
Tell me my father
With a scowl upon your face
Am I worthy of your love
Am I simply a disgrace
Many years later
As time has come to pass
I still feel the anguish
Thought for sure it wouldn't last
I look into the mirror
I see you looking back
Shared lines upon my face
Your scowl I seem to lack
Unlike my father
My back will never turn
My love I'll show freely
A lesson I have learned
