Technologies

I cannot remember the last time
When in my fingers held a pen
How i fast forward to be left behind
To once again ask for paper to lend

Are we supposed to forget?
How useful things were before?
Batteries to only seem to lack
When did technologies become responsible for?

We do not talk like we used to
We simply talk to our phones, we message
Are there words for expressions we do?
How did time misled a once perfect passage?

I sat praying for technologies to work
And I ponder… how dependant I’ve become
Where pen and paper forever lurks
To a future we can never outrun

This piece was written by pen and paper
When technologies were to fail
Amongst the worst… are we really better?
When even lending to strangers… we hardly will
