Tears Softer Than Shadows

I stood there in the black of night
My gaze cast towards the sky;
O'glorious luna, so beautiful you were this Halloween
I stood there
paralyzed,
enchanted
My memories paint a cautionary tale;
one forever stained in blood
Beneath luna's pale glow, we met as vampires do
Both alive in our coffins
Feasting in the dead of night,
your eyes gleaming with trickery
I'd begun to experience the depths of your cruelty, and I saw it so vividly; flashing before me all at once.
I'd finally snapped; my sanity was under abduction
After everything we'd been through, the person I saw before me was so foreign to me, so alien..
I swore that you would change again
All I wanted from you was a friend
but you just watched me
diabolical voices echo in my ears
whispering sweet nothings
stings upon my heart
