Tears of Sacrifice

When you shed a tear at sunset Do not wipe it a way- It is the tear of a sacrifice so great; A tear of life's dismay; It will make you understand The taste of the world's pain, The heaviness of self-sacrifice's hand- It is the tear of joy's grain Buried in the darkness of the earth to die To grow to a new life of high sky

What a wonderful thought, Honesty! Keeping the tear instead of wiping it away so you can appreciate happiness when the sun rises again. A poem to remember. Best wishes, Carolyn
